19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former mentor his previous coach.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after that period of that year.
Success also means he has won twenty-one victories at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.
The player's counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour title, gained dominance to create a decider.
Moutet rescued 4 early-game chances in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
