I'll stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
