'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues clash with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the dramatic final moments of Swansea's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game ended with Galbraith briefly donning a fan's glasses amid the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative shot from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess immediately hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the home end to celebrate, with supporters congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory capped an incredible comeback given Swansea had found themselves down 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. In the celebrations, there was some collateral damage. He shared, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and Josh Key and I were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The result secured a next round game at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. The athletic midfielder had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with Jamie Donley's volley from about long distance going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that far out," says Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right wing-back after Orient changed tactics. That meant competing with Jack Grealish, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way the underdogs approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the simple things and simple things, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they know how to manage and take the sting out of a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a strong mentality and focus just to remain competitive."

New Chapter

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in Wales. At Orient he linked up again with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a spell at League Two the Manchester club, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a slightly green going into men's football. I think numerous professionals would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without much intensity. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that development for both domestically and internationally, excelling for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the global tournament next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has featured in the last several matches, including both legs games against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This represents quite the ride for the player from the local area in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his father, Stuart, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

His only game for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to Astana, where they played on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was shut owing to the weather of bitter cold. "This represented a lengthy journey and it was cold out there," he says, chuckling. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged 16? "It was relatively straightforward, because I got to the stage where I realized I wouldn't break through at first-team level. I'm very appreciative for the years at the club but it reached a stage where I believed I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

It is the middle of the day at the club's training ground but Galbraith has an appointment at late afternoon: a driving theory test, another step towards getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a minibus driven by academy staff, Pete and Howard, which shuttles players to and from practice and games.

"I travel with Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, the midfielder – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to socialize with the lads but I'm planning to be the following person to stop using the bus and driving. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Supporter Connections

When he represented Leyton Orient, Galbraith would blend in with fans on the Tube after starting his journey at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
